Blogging, Traffic, and Conversion in 2017 – What’s Really Working Now?

Blogging, Traffic, and Conversion in 2017 - What's Really Working Now?The business of blogging is ever-changing. I don’t know about you, but I feel like once I get the hang of something – growing traffic, building my email list, writing great content – things change and evolve and I need to do the same, both personally and professionally. My mindset needs to shift and I need to adapt by doing things in a new way.

*This post may contain affiliate links.*

However, keeping up with these changes is a challenge because I’m so focused on doing. That’s my number 1 priority. I’m always brainstorming, researching, creating content, networking and engaging with my audience, and promoting my stuff.

And that doesn’t leave much time for keeping a close watch on trends or trying to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to effective blogging strategies.

In this post, I talk about the product adoption cycle and how it relates to income blogging. What I’m talking about today is related to that. We need to stay current and, better yet, ahead of the curve.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a lot of extra time to devote to innovation, nor do I have the time to travel the country to various masterminds and summits (I’m a mom and small business owner, after all!). So it’s a relief when I can rely on others to let me know what’s working now.

And while I didn’t get to attend the 2017 Traffic and Converson Summit, I do like that I can get the highlights in “Cliff Notes” fashion.

What exactly are these notes and why should you care?

Because these notes are “a complete reference guide to everything (and I do mean everything) revealed about what really works, right now by 40 of the marketers actually doing it.”

>>>These notes are not just fluff! These ideas are being implemented by successful bloggers and entrepreneurs right now!<<<

And if I had gone to this conference, I can tell you what sessions I would have attended:

  • Master The MAGIC Headline Formula That ALWAYS Works and Get a KILLER Hook for Your Product or Service in the Process
  • Win Pinterest (with the least effort): Advanced Pinterest Tactics for the Smartest Marketers
  • 4 Wicked Smart Ways to Get More Out of the Traffic You Already Have
  • Ask Me Anything: Pat Flynn
  • How To Generate Follow-up Sales From Your Amazon Buyers (Even If You Don’t Have Their Email Address)

That’s just what I would do. There are many more sessions and you can see some of those here.

Is this something you should consider?

Let me start off by saying that, in my opinion, this is not for the absolute beginner blogger. If you’re still trying to figure out how to get started, how to write content that actually makes you money, or are just still learning the basics, this is not for you. There’s a lot more out there for you to focus on first. That being said, it really wouldn’t hurt for you to have this information.

This is for you if you’ve launched your blog, have begun to see income from your site, need advanced strategies to take your blog to the next level, or just want to be one of the first bloggers to start using these methods.

And here’s the real kicker: at prior summits, almost every single speaker wound up releasing a high ticket course, with almost the exact same material they shared.

The only thing you can count on…

…is that things will always change and evolve in this business and we have to do the same by using best practices to make money by blogging, by figuring out a business strategy that works for us, by consistently building our blogs and email lists, and then being an innovative leader in our niche.

That may mean doing things differently in our biz, creating truly unique (like, never-done-before content), or establishing additional business branches that allow us to explore new areas of our business – and by extension, new ways of implementing methods and strategies.

Pick up your copy of these notes and take these strategies into 2017 and beyond…and let me know how they work for you!

I’m a new blogger and I’ve already noticed that things are ever changing! It’s so hard to get the swing of things, but I’m trying! I’ve learned not to necessarily jump on any bandwagons and be flexible with strategy!

Absolutely. I always tell new bloggers to get a solid education then keep “head down and focus.” There’s a lot of noise out there. And if we can stay on top of changes, we can keep leveling up in our biz.

Thanks for all the material; enough to read for a while. I’ll get back to you in case of questions.

Wow this is a lot to digest! It is really overwhelming as a new blogger, but I agree-keep focused and carry on! We have to keep learning and adapt quickly. Thanks!

Things are always changing for bloggers, once you get used to one thing you have to do it a new way the next week. Thank you for the great tips!

No kidding! But the foundation is the same: great content + building relationships = traffic and happy readers!

  • March 21, 2017 at 6:05 PM

Im at a plateau right now and arg its so frustrating! Finding that content that hasnt been done is easier said than done!

    • March 25, 2017 at 3:16 PM

FACT. And I had a mentor tell me “it’s all been done” and that we just need find our spin. And that spin COULD be blogging about what others are not. What’s hot, everyone jumps to talk about but the less-than-trendy stuff gets overlooked. That’s where there’s opportunity.

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for this eye opener. You’re definitely correct, things are always changing in the blogging world. There’s so many blogs online that promise quick and easy results.

You’ve definitely provided a ton of great information on your blog that will help others grow their blogs. Staying focused is definitely something that every new blogger needs to work on.

It’s easy to get distracted with so much information out there. Thanks for the friendly reminder. Hope you have a great one.
