SBI! for WP Review Action Guide Day 3 – Topics and Structure

SBI for WP Review Action Guide Day 3 - Topics and StructureAnd here we are at Day 3 in the SBI! for WP review and case study. Time to look at profitable topics and structuring content. In case you missed them, here are the earlier parts of this review:

In my opinion, this “day” is never done. Once you’ve built your master list of keywords and developed your basic site structure, you will always be mining for great keywords and topics to use as you build out your site.

However, when you start out with a list of 500+ potentially good keywords, you’ll have plenty of topics to get started.

And since we’re talking keywords, we’ll also be learning about search intent – what it is, why it’s important, and how to use it to your advantage when structuring and writing your content.

At the end of this day, the goal is to have a solid plan of action for what to write, when to write it, and how to structure – or interlink – your pages and posts.

Understanding Search Intent

It’s not just about keywords – it’s about understanding what your reader wants to know. The broader the keyword, the harder it is to know precisely what your reader is looking for.

Why is this so important?

So you can deliver what your reader is looking for!

Here’s an in-depth article on understanding search intent – I recommend reading it!

What is a Site Blueprint?

Your site blueprint is your plan for what keywords you’ll use and how you’ll structure your site. Most sites use what’s known as the Silo Structure – a 3-tier system with tier 1 being your home page, tier 2 pages being “hub pages” that link out to tier 3 pages, which are more detailed and specific.

Mining for More Keywords

Even though SBI for WP gives us access to a comprehensive keyword tool, I see that it’s not particularly good at giving me data for long-tail keywords, which are easier to “win” (less competition) and easier to write for.

So I’ll be supplementing my SBI keywords with Jaaxy keywords, which gives me detailed data in an easy-to-understand format. Gotta love those green lights!

My Progress, So Far

It took me a couple of weeks to sort through my SBI keywords and come up with a site structure, but I did it! At this point, I have 101 pages planned, which is a very nice size, in my opinion. 🙂

Organization is NOT my strong suit so you might create your site plan a lot faster than I did. Or you might choose a topic with a site plan in mind already.

I’m ok taking my time because I want to do it right.

Next, I’ll move on to Day 4, where I’ll research and plan my monetization.
